Team Ontario Women

By Caley Vennn, #8, Ontario

Team Ontario Women’s Volleyball is a collection of the Canadian Province of Ontario’s finest female athletes. Traveling from places such as Sudbury, Windsor, and the capital of Ottowa, these athletes have come together under the direction of Head Coach Joely Christian and Assistant Coaches Marilyn Douglas and Hoi Leung to train and play in the 2005 Canada Games. The Canada Games will be held in August in Regina, Saskatchewan and are the fourth largest multi-sport competition in the world. In order to secure their place on the podium, the athletes have traveled to the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO where they trained and scrimmaged against the Youth and Jr. A2 US Women’s National Teams. The athletes are also here at the 2005 Global Challenge in Salt Lake City, Utah to face international competition. Upon returning to Ontario, the athletes will train until their departure for the games in August where they hope to bring home a long awaited Gold Medal!
