A Day in the City with the Slovenes

My name is Micah Lines and I am playing for the Intermountain Youth White Team. This past Friday we had the opportunity to hang out in downtown Salt Lake City with the Slovenian delegation. It was really cool to see how excited they were as they stepped into all the big stores at the Gateway mall. It definitely made me realize how much I take for granted all we have here in the U.S.
Both teams split up and spent a couple hours shopping together. If the brand “Hollister” isn't popular back in Slovenia now, it definitely will be when they return back home. The girls practically bought out the whole store. It was really fun to get to know them and become more familiar with some of their ways back home. Their personalities are all so sweet and we had some good laughs by the end of the day.
After a long day of shopping and getting rained on, we were all ready for a good tastin' dinner. We filled our appetites at Souper Salad and then called it a day. It will be kind of crazy playing across the net from the girls we were just barely hanging out with. I'm really excited to see how it turns out!
