Katya Bogachyova, #8, Samorodok (Khabarovsk) Youth Team, Russia
My name is Katya Bogachyova and I am fifteen years old. I have played volleyball for 6 years. I began playing volleyball in Volgograd, Russia. Now I play with the Habarovsk Samorodok Club Team. My team has played together for six years in Volgograd, and is now being moved to Habarovsk Russia to train with the Samorodok Club full time. The teams we played in the Salt Lake City tournament were very competitive. The tournament was very well organized, and was very fun. This has been the first international tournament that our volleyball team has participated in. This has also been the first time that I have left Russia. The people of Utah have been very nice, and friendly, and have welcomed us well. I really like that few people drink and smoke here in Utah. It makes Utah have a very good atmosphere. Directly after this tournament my team and I will have a small vacation here, and in California. When I return home to Russia, I will continue to train with the Samorodok Club. I will also continue to study at school.
