3rd day of Tour - Good-bye Krakow Š Hello Bialska-Biala!

Good morning! Today we left Krakow and headed to the small town of Bialska-Biala on the bus. On the way, we stopped by the Krakow airport to pick up one more volleyball girl. Unfortunately, her flight was delayed. After an hour of waiting Cory informed us that she wouldn¹t be coming that day. Her luggage was still lost and she hadn¹t had much luck in her journey to Europe thus far. Let¹s hope we hear good news about her tomorrow.

The tour must go on so we continued down the snowy stretch of highway to reach our hotel. Can you picture 33 girls "lugging their luggage" through the snow and then carrying 50lb bags up several flights of stairs? Welcome to the JEET Tour.

This evening was a very important training session. The importance of doing well at training was vital to getting hired anytime soon in Europe. It helped Tim and Cory determine what phone calls to make to different European coaches about certain girls. So in other words, we had to "bring it" today! Congrats to Ashley Fisher for being the first signee. She will head to Sweden on Monday.

After practice we ate at a nice mountain-cabin-style Polish restaurant.. It felt so cozy as soon as you walked in. In some corners of the restaurants were log fireplaces which added to the ambiance. We didn't know what to expect at first, but we hit the jackpot! There was an interesting twist with the appetizers, bread with a "surprise" spread and pickles on the side. The "surprise" spread turned out to be fat. Yes, fat. Surprisingly most of the girls were open to try it. This wasn't the big winner for the night, the delicious soup was. It was a special Polish soup consisting of a creamy broth with one hardboiled egg, sausage and potato. The main course was meat and vegetable pirogies and flavorful chicken. They served fries with the meal as well and I think because we¹re American they gave us Ketchup! We were stuffed after dinner and were happy to head back to hotel and to get some rest.

Tomorrow we will split up and some girls will be going to Bratislava, Slovakia and the other group will go to Melk, Austria. Yes, like Milk - but with an E! Time to get some zzzzzz¹s. We have a bus/van ride ahead of us.
