Getting Placed in Sweded
By Ashlee Fisher, Marquette University
After only three days on the tour, I flew up to Sweden and joined the Sollentuna Volleyball Team in Sollentuna, Sweden. Sollentuna is almost like a suburb of Stockholm. We are only a 15 minute tram ride to downtown. My team is great! They all speak perfect English and my coach is Canadian so there are no communication barriers. I was surprised at how good the team was! They are currently fourth in the first division of Sweden. The team has two gyms and both are very nice. One was just built in October and the other was just renovated so it looks brand new. I am living in an apartment with two of the girls from the team and everything is going great. I have my own room and our apartment is in a great location. We are a two minute walk to the gym and across the street is a big mall with a grocery and drug store in it, and the bus and tram stations are also across the street. I have been here five days and I love it! I am so happy I went on the tour and got the opportunity to stay and live in Europe and play some great volleyball!
