The BIP New Year’s Bash - A Parent's Point of View

A Parent's Point of View
By Rita Buck-Crockett (Mother of Marrita, San Jose 18's)

I have to admit, this was a great experience. First of all, because I got to watch my daughter play against other countries as I did, and secondly, to get the chance to see some countries that I had not had the opportunity to see before. I really did enjoy meeting all of the other parents from California, Georgia, Florida and Alaska.

As far as the tour goes, my husband and I were very impressed with the organization of the trip. The entire tour from Slovenia to Vienna to the Czech Republic was like clock-work. We were never unsure of what was next in our agenda. Cory and Tim made it possible for the girls to be able to sight see, shop, and get very challenging competition.

Rita and Mari, Mother and Daughter in Vienna

I must admit, the teams we played against taught us few things. They were big and strong, but our girls never stopped trying. We went three with some tough teams. I think they really learned how to step up their games. The one thing I hope my daughter learned from this experience is to enjoy herself while off the court, but once its game time, its time to rock and roll.

I really want to thank Cory and Tim for creating such a great opportunity for our children, as well as the opportunity for the parents to make new life long friends. I’m positive that my new friends, Marianne Middleton and Rita Schumann will be visiting me in Florida soon! I loved it and look forward to doing it again!
