In Villa Carlos Paz
By Linzy Kearney

Muy frio was definitely the team consensus at practice this morning. As we filed off the autobus we saw a dog on the verge of freezing and starving to death. Johanna once again claimed that she was going to take it home with her. We proceeded to enter the gym where we played dodge-ball for a warm up it didn¹t help much though, I could still see my breath every time I exhaled! Practice was fun, I always wanted to know what it would be like to play volleyball in Antarctica!
When we got back to the hotel, I decided to go next door to the internet café which cost a whopping peso. That¹s like 33 cents for 20 minutes on a computador! The corner store/internet café was full of so many fun things. We spent an entire hour in it looking at everything and cracking up! Muy divertido. I bought a yo corizon argentina (I heart Argentina) pin that is the coolest thing ever. We ate lunch at the pizza parlor across the street from the hotel. We¹re regulars there numero doce porfavor, quatro queso pizza, gracias. I am totally digging this siesta thing in the middle of the day where everyone goes home and sleeps from noon to three. I woke up from my nap, took a shower, and got ready to depart for the game. It was still muy frio in el gymnasio! It was by far the smallest gym that we have played in so far, but it was cozy. We started off a bit slow, but came back super strong in the third and fourth to take the match to five. That¹s two five gamers in a row! We finally controlled their best hitter who they feed the ball to time and time again. Car (Karly Sipherd) and Meg (Megan Argabright) were straight beasts at the net! They shut down there eleven foot middles like there was no tomorrow.

"Argentina During Time Out"
Lex (Alexa Alexander) was the libero, she dominated, especially considering it was her first time ever playing the position. Ash (Ashley Miller) was tricking the Argentinean middles every single time she set the ball. Both Jen, Bridge, and I had mad one on one looks every time! We definitely displayed the American fighting spirit tonight. There was a lot of fist clenching, arm pumping, and screaming at the top of our lungs. It was an awesome team effort, and I am totally certain that after these two five game matches, we WILL win the next one! Even though we lost, were pumped and ready to go for tomorrow!
Note from Johanna Hilbers: Linzy played awesome tonight. She led the team with her play and with her energy, she made everyone around her look better. It was cool to watch her play and play with her. But she wouldn¹t write that
about herself, so I had to. YAAAAAY Z!!!
