2008 BIP/Diamar Fire Sale Update!
Ola amigos!
The 2008 BIP/Diamar Fire Sale has gotten off without a hitch. The athletes have worked extremely hard to show all of their respective skills. Teruel, Spain has been a great location to start the tour. David “Super Tour” Kniffin has worked hard to create the most conducive environment for success. The players have all been put up in a school dormitory and have had the opportunity to get to know each other on a personal level, as well as, on the court.
The schedule for the Teruel portion of the tour was developed as a means to maximize court time and replicate what the players would go through day to day with a professional club. Free time is something that all players have to learn how to deal with and it was great to see how the athletes filled up the hours. These observations help in evaluating what a player will be like off the court, which is very important to the longevity of a career overseas.
The final day of the stop in Teruel had the players playing a couple sets on center court and having the opportunity to be coached by people who have played and coached at the professional level. The players seemed to respond to the coaching and appreciated the different opinions on their level of play.
