March Exposure Tour 2006
Spain, March 10-20, 2006

Everywhere in Spain we have visited is beautiful. The people are so warm and friendly! The weather was just perfect, always sunny and no clouds.
In Granada we stayed at a youth hostel, which at first made me nervous, but inside it was just like a hotel except with no maid service or towels. After we got settled in we walked around town. There was a marketplace we went to that looked like something I imagined in China.

The market had narrow paths that were covered in tents. This is where I found a belt I bought for 6 Euro, which is the EXACT belt I saw in Urban Outfitters for $45! What a deal! We ate at an outdoor cafe called “Oh La La” which was in a courtyard with other shops.
Later we played against the SuperLiga Team “Universidad de Granada”. This is where Kele Eveland (First Team All-American from Georgia Tech in ’04) plays. She answered our questions and said she absolutely loved living there! I was very concerned about how players adapt to the language barrier. She said she studied everyday for an hour and met with a tutor. Within 8 months she was fluent! I was also very pleased to hear that she adapted so well to Spain that she considers Granada her new home.

We played at a gym that was like a college for sports students. We won our match and everyone was in good spirits. Dana had been sick on the trip but this was the first time we really got to see her play and she did awesome! We were all very proud of her for doing her best while being sick. After the match we ate in their cafeteria where we ate a cold plate, which in Spain means assorted lunch meats. We sang “Happy Birthday to Erikka and they served us fresh lemonade.
The next day we visited a fortress (The Alhambra), where "Tour Guide Kristina" (because she always the one in charge with the map) showed us around. In the fortress there were amazing gardens, and ponds with goldfish in them. What an awesome day…

From there we drove to Benidorm…
