Day 10 - Pordenone - Wednesday July 19, 2006
By Hailey Cowles

Today started out early…as all of our days here do!  We woke up at 6:30 am and went down for breakfast.  The breakfast here in Pordenone is really good.  We then went up to our rooms and got ready for VENICE!!  The bus left our hotel at 7:30 and dropped us off at the train station.

The train was exciting for me because I have never ridden on a train before.  The ride to Venice was an hour and twenty minutes!!  Most of the girls slept the whole way; I tried but it a little noisy for me.

When we finally got to Venice, the girls split up into groups and were able to shop for four and a half hours.  I bought an Italia zip up and a necklace for my sister.  A lot of the girls bought things for their families and friends.

We were told to meet at San Marco Plaza at two o’clock.  It was so beautiful there with all of the pigeons.  But, before my group got there, a pigeon pooped on my head.  I was so grossed out. EWWW!!  When we finally all met up, we took team pictures in front of San Marco church.

After, we had another two hours to shop…AGAIN!  My group was all out of money, so we sat down at a snack bar and got something to drink and walked back…slowly.

After the two hours were up, we all got back on the train for another hour and twenty minute train ride.  When we got back to Pordenone we hopped back on the bus to go to our hotel.  One problem… the bus was 131 degrees (Adam and Curt said so)…Really it was!

When we got to the hotel all the girls got ready for dinner.  We went to a cute little place across the street from our hotel.  We had some really good penne pasta.  After the pasta we were served chicken and French fries.  It was really, really good!  For dessert we had tiramisu (which I didn’t have...I got ice cream at the store next door!! YUMM).

See you later gator…Peace up, A-town down…I miss you mom, dad, Courtney.
