Kaepa Northern Lights European Tour: July 10-22, 2005

Day 12

By Karen Sauer, U17’s team

Today was my birthday and it started it with breakfast and to my surprise had seventeen candles on top of a birthday breakfast roll.

We then were on our way to King Ludwig’s castle. We took a ferry across the river to get to the castle and had the pleasure of getting a tour. We learned that King Ludwig had modeled his castle after the one of Lois the 14 th. It was amazing to see all of the gold architecture and incredible portraits in every room. It was very disappointing that we were unable to take pictures during the tour, but memorable never the less. After the tour we were on the ferry headed back to the bus AGAIN!!! Finally after another hour and a half on the bus we arrived at our hotel in Munich.

The hotel that we are staying at served as a training camp for the Olympics, it has a great view. The adults and coaches were staying at a different hotel shortly located away from ours. After we got settled in and changed we waited for the bus that arrived one hour late. The bus finally arrived at our hotel we headed for the city to eat dinner in Munich. A few of us didn’t enjoy their meal as much as past meals but we had the opportunity to order desert, which was a nice treat. We headed back to the hotel to pack all of our stuff up to get ready for our flight in the morning. See you in the states tomorrow!!!!!!
