Day Seven
By
Natalie Simpson, U16’s
To me, personally, day seven was the best day we’ve experienced in Europe so far and I am pretty sure the rest of the team thinks the same. We started the day out by playing the Austrians for a second time in the morning and, although we didn’t play as well as we would have hoped, we still had fun the rest of the day.
Editors Note: The Austrian Youth National Team won both matches today 2-0 against both the U17 and U16 teams.

After playing we went back to the hotel and ate lunch at the buffet. When we were finished eating, everyone headed up to the rooms and rested and showered before our sight seeing later that afternoon. Around 2 everybody drove back down to Prague in order to learn about and witness the beauty of the historic city. First, we saw the tombs of King Charles IV and his four wives at Saint Vitus Cathedral at the Royal Palace and climbed 287 steps to the top of the church. At the top of the church we could see the entire city of Prague for miles in every direction. The scenery was magnificent and we enjoyed the cool breeze after having climbed the long and winding staircase. Once we had finished at the church, the group split up and some people continued shopping while other people, myself included, stopped for a drink.

Next we all went back to the hotel and changed for dinner. Everybody dressed extremely well despite the fact that we were told we would be eating dinner at a “hole in the wall.” All of us went to an authentic Czech restaurant in Prague and; as far as I know, everyone enjoyed the amazing variety of Czech food we received. During dinner, the 17’s and 16’s toasted Cory and Jirka for their guidance on the trip. After dinner the 16’s and three of the 17’s went with Jirka to a dance club in Prague. We all had an amazing time dancing on five floors with different music on each. There was an oldies floor, modern, techno, and much more. After dancing the night away, we all came to the conclusion that it had been the best and most fun day we have had in Europe so far.
