August 2 -- Travel to, and training in, Innsbruck Austria
By Eric Kay, OPP/OH/S, SMBC 17 Black

As we woke up from a long night, we started our day with another great breakfast from the Imperial Hotel. Shortly after, we packed our bags and left Munich to start traveling to Innsbruck, Austria. The train ride to Austria was Extremely beautiful. At times, the train went through the huge cloud covered mountains that overlooked amazing urban towns and cities. I think that this was a new experience for everyone and none of us had seen such beauty before. Everyone could immediately notice that Innsbruck is so much different than Munich. The town is very bright and calm.

After we got off the bus we had to try and find our hotel with the little (and inaccurate) directions that we had. We walked by a great soccer field where we thought it would be a good idea to kill some time by playing a game. We decided that losers would buy the other team ice cream. it was a very close game that ended in a penalty kick. As the game ended, we got all of our stuff and again tried to find our hotel. Shortly after, we found our hotel behind a church and walked up. The hotel was very nice and it even had a pool which was perfect for refreshment after our intense soccer match.

After a little bit of rest we had departed to find the gym where we would train for a few hours. Unlike the day before, there were no circles involved and we found the gym rather easily. We got a good few hours of training in which was very effective. On the way home we ate at a wonderful pizzaria called Pizza Palermo. Then on our way home, we couldn't forget the ice cream that the loosing soccer team owed. When we got to the ice cream store, [Coach] Ammerman ended up treating for everyone's ice cream. I don't know how that came to happen but I am not complaining about it.

On our way back to the hotel we all had a pretty intense run through the corn field. We found our ways back to our rooms where I can just about say everyone went to bed instantly. Overall, it was a very eventful and productive day.
