We only had one match in the afternoon, which allowed us to go explore both the mountain and the town. After breakfast we headed into town to check out what was in Maribor. After a couple of stops in some shops as well as some paid bathroom breaks we got some chocolate cake and decided to head home. While watching the buses go in and out of the city we brilliantly deduced that taking the bus towards our hotel was a better idea then taking it away from our temporary homes. After a delicious lunch of Slovenian pizzas the team headed up the pohorje mountain to ride the alpine slide down the mountain. The slide was akin to a sled on a rollercoaster track whose brakes were controlled by the rider, a very enjoyable experience.
We then faced the Israeli team once more, unfortunately we lost the 2 of the 3 games this time. However, after the volleyball we played Israel in a soccer match in which we won 10-9, with Ryan scoring the golden goal, partially redeeming our earlier loss. Then we watched the Cameroon Men’s National Team play the Slovenian Men’s National team. The match was a good show of some high caliber volleyball, allowing us to learn even more about the sport. After a trip to get some gelato we headed back to our rooms and finished our day off with some nice, relaxing sleep.
