Sunday morning was interesting. We were initially supposed to wake up at
6:45 but Ashley, KaLee, Nicole, and Chelsea got an unexpected wake up call.
Let's remember there is a two hour time change here in Nicaragua. Rachel had
the sudden urge to come into our room and wake us all up at 4:15 thinking it
was 6:15. There was a lot of screaming and yelling which woke some other
people up but everyone soon went back to sleep. (KaLee's great saying, Why
is it so much darker today than yesterday morning?
When we did wake up again at 6:45am we had another huge and scrumptious
breakfast of pancakes, fruit, eggs, and orange juice. Then we headed off for
our 3-hour bus ride back down the mountains to Managua to play another
brutal match against the Senior National Team. Whoo! They¹re pretty good!

Well, we're having loads of fun and learning more about Nicaragua and the
culture here but really we have to go... Another 2 hours in the bus after
the match would get us to the beaches of San Juan del Sur for the next
several nights.
Editor's Note: On the way south through Nandaime, we stopped to spend some
of the "donation money" that the team brought down on trees. We spent about
$10 total buying 25 "mango rosa" trees and 25 "naranja malagueña" trees
(basically mango and orange trees) to take and plant for some very poor
families in the San Juan del Sur area that can use the vitamins (and tasty
fruit!) that these grafted baby fruit trees will provide for them by next
year. The coolest part was when a couple of the girls grabbed some pens and
paper to give to these little ones that lived on the farm and doubtless have
little for school supplies, or even just coloring.
