For the 6th consecutive year, Bring It Promotions (BIP) will be participating in the Annual Sibillini Tournament in Comunanza (Marche Region), Italy. This year we will only be entering one team, Team VolleyHut, but hopefully we can finally win this thing. No USA Team has won the tournament since Team VolleyHut in the summer of 2000. This year's tournament has been lengthened from 5 days back to the original format of 7 days, so we will spend 2 nights in Rome, and then have one night in the lovely Adriatic Coastal town of Falconara (or Pescara, we’re not sure yet) before heading up the Sibillini Mountains for the tournament.
This year's tournament will again boast at least 8 top under 20 teams, and although the teams are not yet set, we can expect a selection of teams from the following list:
Olomuc, Czech Republic
Slavia Bratislava, Slovakia (Champions the last 3 years)
Postar Belgrade, Serbia (2001 Champs)
Vasas Budapest (12th straight year in the tournament)
Nova Gorica, Slovenia
Castelfidardo, Italy
Jesi, Italy
Falconara-Ancona, Italy.
The tournament starts on June 26 th with the finals being played on July 2 nd. The USA delegation will land in Rome on June 23 rd, and leave on July 3 rd, and possibly also have friendly matches in Rome on June 24th and in Falconara/Pescara on the 25th.
Cost of the tour is $1500 + plane ticket arriving Rome on June 23 rd and departing Rome July 3 rd. Katie and Erin Virtue will be setting, so we just need to fill the rest of our roster of 12 with 3 middles, 4 outsides, 2 opposites and a libero. All players must be 20 years or younger on July 3, 2005.
