Canyon Crest Europe Trip July 2008

Journal 9
7-16-08, Day 9

Today we woke up in our nice and spacious pension funhous in Vienna.  The weather was slightly windy, with little clouds and lots of sun. However my room members were set on the fact that it was going to be cold like the past rainy days. So I decided to wear black pants, a tank top and a sweater and let me tell you I regret that like no other. After getting dressed we proceeded to breakfast, which consisted of bread and some more bread then some juice, coffee or tea. It was very good, and to all you that are reading this are missing out on some amazing food. Okay, well anyways after breakfast we went on a short little walk to the tram, which took us to one of the more amazing places in the world the Schonbrunn! This spectacle was something like I had never seen before. As you walk through the front gates your eyes set on a beautiful yellow castle with white trimming set in a green forest. Each and ever room is done with no detail left out, from the Chinese room with Chinese vases sitting on the gold trimming to the porcelain room. But it didn’t stop there the backyard was even more beautiful than the inside with waterfall and endless gardens. However the day did not end there when we left we took the tram to a nearby open air market where they sold things from fruits to clothing. We shopped for a little however everyone was so hungry that it didn’t last long.  A few of us sat down at this little open café and ate some very delicious food. After all that walking around our group split up some people went back to the hotel and others went back to the main plaza area to shop and see more museums. As for me I went to the plaza area trying as hard as I could to fit everything in to the little time that we had there. At the plaza we went shopping and sat at a cute café to have some coffee and drinks. At around six we left to go back to the hotel. Once we got there everyone crashed for a quick power nap. Then around eight we left for dinner, which was at a cute little restaurant near where we where staying. At dinner we ate a pancake soup with was my favorite, along with a small salad and then for our main course we ate schnitzel, which was like fried pork. Still not full our nice and wonderful tour guide Henne took us to get some gelato, which was so so so amazingly wonderful I could cry. As we were walking back home me, Carissa and Alyssa spotted an Internet café and did a facebook sesh. As we walked home we took in the last of the cities atmosphere because tomorrow we are off to Prague.
