Today we woke up around 8ish to begin our excursion in Prague. After eating breakfast at the hotel, we spotted a Starbucks and just had to stop. We walked up a lot of stairs, and all of a sudden we found ourselves surrounded by a castle and other hisotical buildings. It was interesting to hear all of the stories that come with the buildings, which our tour guide Yurka was able to fill us in on.
At eleven o'clock, the church bells rang and we headed into mass at the old castle church. Because the church was made completley of stones and marble floor, most of us froze. It was so cold we could even see our breath. Even though we couldnt understand a word the priest was saying, it was definitley a worth while experience.
Unfortunatley, due to part of the castle we were not able to climb up 250 stairs to get to the top to see an amazing view. Instead, we told more stories, riddles, and messed with the frozen guards in the front of the castle. We then broke off into small groups to tour the city. Shopping, seeing more buildings, and just hanging out at the hotel, was what most of us did. However, if you were Julie or Sam, you paid 5 euros to go in a three 3 level museum of mideavel torture instruments. Then it was back to cross the charles bridge to get ready for dinner.
At 6:30 we left for a restaruant whicch served authentic Czech food. There were many different dish to pick and choose from. The meal was delicous, but the best part was the desert. The waiters brought out "crepes". This consists of fruit, whipped cream, ice cream, and chocolate, all rapped up in a very thin pancake. We almost devoured them instantly. We then had some good team bonding and played some games at the restaurant. After dinner we walked to our tram and headed back to the hotel where we played a question and answer game with Eric and Lindsey. All of a sudden it was midnight, and we had to get ready for the next day. It was sad to say goodbye to Yurka, but we think his friend (who was hitting on Sam all day) was the most sad to say gooodbye. We finished packing and got to bed around 1am. Tomorrow we will catch an early flight to France, where we will be touring Paris all day. |
