Hello from Slovenia,
Today was a fairly interesting day. We got up early this morning to drive to Slovenia by bus from Budapest, Hungary. From Hungary to Slovenia took us about a six hour drive. When we finally got to Slovenia we noticed that it was a very beautiful country, but more importantly the hotel we are staying at is gorgeous! This hotel is much more beautiful than the one in Hungary. It has so many interesting things all around the hotel and in walking distances of the hotel. I feel like we will have a wonderful experience here for the next few days. Today we also got to play the junior national team of Slovenia. These girls were very young but also very talented. The gym was a lot different than the one in Hungary. It looked like one of the gyms we would see in America, which was totally different than the one we played in two days ago in Hungary. The food in Slovenia is very similar to American food as well. Some things are different but still compares to what we eat in America. I really enjoyed eating both lunch and dinner today in Slovenia. One of the coolest things about Slovenia is their language is much more understandable than in Hungary, which I like a lot. Here in Slovenia people are not in such a big hurry, so it makes it easy for tourists like us to look around and sight see. I really like walking around seeing the town during the free time we had today. We actually stopped by the local ice-cream shop on the corner down from the hotel and I was shocked by how amazing it tasted. I ordered Hazelnut ice-cream and it was so rich and creamy. I honestly think sweets in European countries use less sugar to make their desserts, but taste a lot better with less sugar. I really have loved every moment of being in Europe especially Slovenia. Getting to experience the different cultures has been wonderful. I have been forced to try new things and I must admit that I have enjoyed stepping outside my comfort zone. There are only better experiences to come in the next couple of days and I am welcoming all of them with open arms.
