European Blog #11 - Prague, Czech Republic - May 19 - Kristin RinneAkA “rinne Rinne!”

So, tonight ends our 11 day tour. I am sitting in a hotel room, but not just any hotel room… I am sitting in room 225 at the Hotel Expo in Prague (Praha), Czech Republic. It will be hard for me to write this journal, as I am sad to leave Europe. The tour has been, in whole, FANTASTIC!!! I am even semi enthused to include our early morning trek to the Praha Policie station. Yes, you read correctly, the police station. We had an unfortunate run in with some mischievous activity. By mischievous activity, I mean all but 2 of my teammates (including myself) came back from a night of “well mannered” debauchery to find a few key personal items missing from their rooms. I mean to say that, my flight back to the states will not have a soundtrack nor will it be pleasantly interrupted by reviewing photos on my camera of places that I had so recently visited. OH WELL, WE’RE IN PRAGUE!!! I’ll be in such a haze from my flight anxiety medication that it won’t matter much anyway. Anyhow, considering the previous night’s events, everyone was in high spirits and ready to pounce on our last full day of foreign fun. I however looked as though I was so heart broken to be leaving. This was only because my eyes decided to reject my contacts and punish me for attempting to soldier through the day wearing them.  A couple of us are having allergic reactions to something in the air and by the first tram ride I had to take the contacts out. I was determined to have a fabulous day in spite of the circumstances. Looking back I welcome the inconvenience and am now convinced that I would be able to maneuver my way around Prague based on the different types of cobbles that make up the road. Anyhow, the day was wonderful and it ended with a fabulous traditional Czech meal. This traditional meal consisted of kielbasa (sausage), dumplings, potato pancakes, fried cheese and a variety of traditional Czech drinks. It was at this final stop that I befriended two English gentlemen that taught me a few useful tricks if I were to ever find myself in Eastern Europe again. The other useful trick that I learned is, travel with Jillian Freda Nyhof and get her to tell you some political jokes.
